Survey Vessel

It is a dedicated geophysical site investigation vessel and is permanently equipped to support all aspects of geophysical operations.

Teknik Kembara has just completed repair works in accordance with class (ABS) Special Survey. The vessel is fitted with two hull mounted 12kHz and 200kHz echo sounder transducers and a 117Khz ISIS 100 system SWATH transducer. A 12” gate valve is also available. Seismic streamer cables (GECO GX600 Streamer type) are installed on the vessel along with HGS sleeve guns (4x40 array) sound source. The gun controller is a Kalamos QSC eight gun controller capable of producing up to 2,200 scfm. The digital recording system being a TTS-2 (128 channels) with SUN Sparc Ultra II processing utilising Promax ver. 6.04 software and Seisworks interpretation software.

The vessel is fully air conditioned and can provide accommodation for a total of 36 persons, with a large mess room, recreational facilities and a hospital. A Survey and Post Processing Room is on the main deck with fitted work surfaces shelving and storage cupboards occupying 108 square metres.

The Teknik Kembara has capacity for 339 Tonnes of fuel and 220 Tonnes of fresh water giving it an endurance period of approximately 35 days.The vessel’s Life saving facilities conform to International Conventions for safety of life at sea, with a capacity for 40 persons.
