The amphibious Marine Explorer 22 TDI hovercraft is the most advanced design in its class. It features the highest payload fraction of any craft available on the market in its size. The Explorer is powered by a 2 L four-cylinder Volkswagen Turbo diesel. The TDI powerplant and efficient drive system significantly reduce operating its expenses, fuel consumption is an average of 2.8 GPH(10.6 LPH) at the 30 mph(48 KPH) cruise speed. The useful cockpit space is 124" x 75"(3.14 mx 1.9 m). The skirt system is made from a 36 oz/yd²(1250g/m²) urethane fabric, is very simple to maintain and long-lived.
