Electric locomotive
Fuel Type: Electric | Place of Origin: Poland |
Ld-31 EM electric locomotive for underground applications is designed for transport in underground areas of “a” degree of methane explosion hazard.
The locomotive has a compact monolith construction, with the operator's cabin situated in the middle part of the machine. The locomotive cabin has been designed according to the ergonomic requirements concerning the operator's work-place. The locomotive is powered by a modern brushless motor withpermanent magnets, which significantly improves the performance of motor engines, including increased pulling power. Speed adjustment and change of direction is achieved by an electronic inverter. Each motor set is powered independently, which enables an operation of the locomotive even in the case, when one of the motor fails.
Ld-31 EM locomotive has an electric proportional main brake and a spring-operated emergency and parking brake. The locomotive is equipped with a system to check the operator's efficiency - the so-called dead-man's handle. An operational condition of the locomotive is monitored. When the system detects some abnormalities, a locomotive is stopped automatically and the cause of this abnormality is signaled on the operator's control panel.
Main circuits are powered by 250V DC voltage from traction network, whereas control circuits, lighting, and diagnosis are powered by 12V DC voltage from traction or battery. In addition to the local control station, there is possibility of remote radio steering used within the loading or tipping station.
