The Be-200 New Generation Multipurpose Amphibious Aircraft
The Be-200 multipurpose aircraft is a brand-new amphibian, the latest achievement in the world of hydroaviation and the most efficient and advanced amphibious aircraft among ever manufactured. Designed on the basis of the world-known A-40 "Albatross" large amphibian, the Be-200 mostly inherited the hydro- and aerodynamics of its predecessor. Multipurpose character of the aircraft is revealed in a variety of missions that can be performed by the Be-200. In its basic variant the Be-200 amphibian is designed for fire fighting but its unique configuration allows use it for passenger and cargo transportation, coastal patrol, environmental control, search and rescue at sea and other purposes.
The Be-200 amphibious aircraft supercedes in most of the characteristics similar land-based aircraft but in addition it possesses the unique capability of land as well as water take-off and landing. The following modifications of the Be-200 aircraft are designed:
· Fire-fighting
· Search-and-Rescue
· Cargo (Cargo-passenger)
· Passenger
· MedEvac
Be-200 amphibious aircraft is a monoplane with the straight swept wing, T-tail and long boat, pressurized cargo cabin with dimensions: 17 x 2.6 x 9 m. The D-436 TP turbofan engines are developed by "PROGRESS" Design Bureau and manufactured by "MOTOR-SICH" engine - manufacturing plant in Zaporozhye. The plant has an international certificate for the production of turboprop engines D-36 (series 1 and 2A). Two D-436TP turbofan engines are mounted on pylons above the wing thus excluding water access during take-off and landing. BR-715 engines can be fitted if preferred.
